Ngakpa Ordination

I took another step on my Buddhist spiritual path. Tonight I was ordained a ngakpa called "Ngakchang Konchok Jangchup Dorje." Since several of us had taken refuge only days before, Venerable Lama Sonam was apparently merciful enough not to change our newly received names. However, the level of commitment is no less demanding.
The Ngakchang path is less well known than the monastic path, but its "vows" or root samayas, although fewer in number than the precepts for monastics are very rigorous because their focus is interior rather than exterior. The fourteen root samayas are
not to:
1) disparage the Master
2) transgress the Buddha's words
3) be hostile to vajra brothers and sisters
4) forsake loving kindness on behalf of sentient beings
5) abandon the enlightened mind (Bodhicitta)
6) criticize the tenets of one's own or anther's faith
7) divulge secrets to the immature
8) abuse the five components which are primordially pure
9) cast doubt on the Dharma of the Pure nature
10) maintain friendship with those who are harmful especially those who harm the doctrine
11) apply conceptualization to wordless natures
12) belittle those who have faith
13) violate one's words of honor strictly as given
14) disparage women, the source of discriminative wisdom
While I could focus on these and examine each one in turn which would be a worthwhile study, it is perhaps more important to look at the chief reason that drew me to this step. This path is devoted to the essence of tantra, transformation. Nothing is evil except the "three poisons," anger, grasping, and ignorance, but everything including afflictive emotions may be transformed from a negative into a positive. Each of these has powerful energy which can, under the right circumstances, propel the practitioner toward enlightenment.
I am only a beginner on this path with a beginner's understanding. However, I do have a course of study passed down through our lineage and teachers who can teach me.

Looking for a good camp ground

I am planning on going camping for a time of peace and quite, but there are so many places that I cant make up my mind.

I have heard of the hostil in brunswick, which I hear is pretty good.

Then there is ginnie springs, which I have been to a few times but I dont know how it compares with any other place.

Does anyone have any ideas on a place that would suit my state of mind? I plan on doing some fasting and meditation, so a subtle environment would be best for me.

Free Reiki class for youths

If we all meditate at the same time, anchor ourselves in the Earths Starry Core and beam ourselfs to the highest dimensions we can reach with the help of Ets, Archangels and Ascended Masters, we can have a significantly beneficial impact on the Energy Grid of Mother Earth and the Collective Human Consciousness. There are many ways to climb up to through the dimensions, I find the merkaba the most effective but if you simply connect to your I AM Presence (in your chest), ground yourself, invoke your guides, angels, et's of light and the ascended masters plane, then visualize a little version of you standing in your pineal galnd on a glowing lotus, connect a string from the top of your head your head all the way up to the Infinite source of All that Is and vizualize yourself on the lotus shooting up the string as high as you can and into the Great Galactic Sun, bathe in the Awesome Light for a few minutes and then bring it down with you all the way to the Earths core,, this will anchor a massive pillar of light,, vizualize it comming down and sinking deep into the earht,, shinny, pearly and radiant white. It seems clubs in Florida don’t allow vendors to set up a booth and Raves and Burner type events are not as plentiful as they are in Los Angeles. I was thinking of selling, Burner type clothing, Rave / Club apparel and reconstructed fashions at a Flea Market.

I found a couple and wanted to see what some people think of them or if anyone can suggest one.

I'm down until February helping out my grandmother; she had a surgery on her lower back.

I've actually been in town for about 2 weeks, but I just got internet here this past week, and my g-ma's doing much better now!

I've also been fasting for the past couple of weeks. My last day of the Master Cleanser is tomorrow--YAY! 14 days. oh yeah.

Anywhooo-- just wondering if there's any burners down here in MB to hang out with sometime; now that my grandmother is doing much better, I could probably even go out an evening. That would be sweet. Dancing is fun! Though I don't know about the SoBe crowd--it's just so hard to blend here with green hair! Not that blending is my thing. Though it's nice to hang out someplace where I don't get stared at! (Austin is so relaxed!)

I brought some practice poi with me; would be sweet to meet some other firedancers while I'm down, maybe play a bit.

My grandma lives in a condo-The Riviera- at Collins and 24th. So if you're close by, please drop me a line! Thanks!

To all who are planning to attend FreeFall this weekend...

WE HAVE A PROBLEM. WE REPEAT, WE HAVE A PROBLEM.

The water pump to the festival site is down. We are working hard to repair this. Still, anyone attending should plan to bring water for themselves for the weekend, as the likelihood is that this situation won't be fixed by then.

Also, anyone who has not received their invitations in email, please let us know this at freefallticketcritter@yahoo.com, or email me at merritt137@yahoo.com. We seem to be having some trouble with invitations being rejected as Spam.

burnt toast

Hot. Red pepper tamale hot. My god, she was so flaming hot I had to strip down naked, roll in the reeking mud like a wild hog to staycool, until even the fetid bog dried up and turned to graveyard dust. I then felt compelled to give up the proverbial ghost, leaving my bones to bleach white in the scorching heat of the Great Mother's alchemical furnace. What sort of cake would she bake next? What tasty stew would her cauldron brew? Only the thermophiles knew a sure future. For all the rest of flesh the chances for sustainable survival were not much more than a beggar's zilch as the temperatures climbed and the surface sparked, ignited, quickly combusting, leaving behind blackened charcoal, gray ash, and a thickening atmosphere filled with poisonous heat trapping CO2.

Purification by fire the Hopi prophesized and sure as shootin' they weren't just tootin' the horns of street corner apocalypse. This is the real thing. Turn on the air conditioner, fire up another power plant to handle the load, dump tons of CO2 into the atmosphere raising the temperature some more so we have to turn up the air conditioner, which requires higher output from the power plant, which spews more CO2 in a vicious circle spiraling out of quasi-human control. Ah, for the life of a mole …

We might have done better to leave well enough alone and maybe learn to build homes underground and gardens on top. But no, we aspired to bend the Great Mother to our will and testament, harness her to the wagon of industry, and make huge raping profits off the spoils of biosphere exploitation. What an artificial nation! Take a vacation and see her fading beauty before she dries up shriveled into the "hag at the crossroads" where we sit like poisonous toads dumping our loads before expiring along with the water hole. The deepest wells were finally sucked dry. We doomed ourselves while blaming everything and everyone else for our errors.

Do you dream reality? Does reality dream you? There is no actual escape. Fantasy departs when the grid goes down and we are left in the dark fending for ourselves. The whole city is a ghetto and much of the countryside is either owned and operated by fast food corporations and paved suburban malls or is another dried up gene modified mega farm powered by the self-consumption of biofuels, fed on the byproducts of dwindling crude oil. Where are the backyard organic gardens? Is there a backyard to garden and, if so, why aren't we busy replacing the well mowed lawns?

My videogame cell phone oracle has no sane answers. Answers are for sissies. As many of you know, Serendipity has been the site of the EleMent and Thesmophoria Burns in SC the last few years.

There has been a TON of community interest and help invested to make all of these events special, memorable and magical.

This fall, to thank you all for the good work and good fun that's been generated, we will be sponsoring a FREE festival here, no ticket fee required! We don't want your money, we just want YOU!

Although this will not be an "official burn", we intend to embody the principles of the burn community, with one key difference, which is that artists and vendors will have an area where they may provide services to the community. This doesn't make the situation commercial, it makes it supportive of those folks who are the backbone of alternative communities.

The dates for this will be September 28-30th.

We will be setting up a webpage this week with information, and where you can make reservations to come to this event. Although it's free, you'll need to reserve a spot in advance, since attendance will be limited to 200.

hi everyone, question about two chakras

Everytime I think about a certain person, it feels as if my heart(heart chakra) feels like it's going to explode, and it's very painful, or I'll get really nauseous or dizzy...either way the experience isn't a good one..I was wondering if anyone knew any exercises that could relieve some of these symptoms...I've already tried the most obvious, such as, trying not to think of this person, but it hasn't worked yet, in fact, the more I try to forget the more it hurts when there image pops into my head..
Which leads me to my crown chakra...I've been having some very painful migraines lately, and regular medicine doesn't work, so I was thinking it might be something else... I have a feeling that the pain in my heart chakra directly contributes to the pain in my crown chakra.
I'm wondering if anyone has any good ideas on how to eliminate these pains...and if you need any additional information to better interperet this, I will be more than happy to share! I need some relief...

Forms of creation

I am new to this tribe. Love and light to everyone.

I have recently formulated a new theroy on our universe and why it is ever changing. I would love some input.

Each galaxy is one individual souls creation. It is an accumulation of all their cosmic energy and karma, since the begining.

infinate galaxys= infinate souls.

We chose to inhibit this galaxy, but someone else created it.

"god" You hear people say that everyone and every thing is god, or that nothing is god, or that there is only one god.

I belive that every soul is "god" of the galaxy they manifested, there for everyone is god, but only one soul is god of the space we are currently occupying.

Last night I was watching footage from the hubble telescope. I dont know if any of you have extensivley looked at some of the pictures, though im sure some of you have. Its exquisite. Its so obviouse that entities are manifesting these wonderful creations. For example, one galaxey was a big, bright red form, taking the shape of a hand flipping the bird. One galaxey had the exact form of a unicorn. You can see faces, emotions, love and hate in every formation. There are screaming faces of despair, and people intertwined in cosmic love. Its truely mind blowing.

Occult -- What it means to me

The word occult comes from the Latin occultus (clandestine, hidden, secret), referring to the 'knowledge of the secret' or 'knowledge of the hidden' and often popularly meaning 'knowledge of the supernatural', as opposed to 'knowledge of the visible' or 'knowledge of the measurable' . The term is sometimes popularly taken to mean 'knowledge meant only for certain people' or 'knowledge that must be kept hidden', but for most practicing occultists it is simply the study of a deeper spiritual "reality" that extends beyond pure reason and the physical sciences.

This is the definition of Occult, but unfortunatly this definition is taken out of context by most western-minded people. Just because there is something that the Logical side of the human mind does not understand, that subject becomes taboo, or evil.

I've recently joined this tribe as I'm in FLA for the next month, visiting the folks. Anyhow I wanted to see if there was any strong yoga communities, as I myself am a teacher and enthusiast of spiritual development, health, and wellness. I began my training 5 years ago in hatha vinyasa flow, progressed to Universal Freestyle, and currently I focus upon a meditation practice primarily consisting of Vipasana in a Vajrayana Buddhist lineage.

I understand Miami has a few strong studios and practioners. How about anywhere else?

Also if you know of anyone in the Naples area who is interested in learning how to practice yoga or meditation, I would be delighted to connect with those interested. I am also available to teach groups of adults or children.

Biblical use of Magic-Mushrooms

Manna is the food-from-heaven provided by God to Israelites in the wilderness, according to the Bible the Israelites are said to have eaten Manna
My book Manna explores the evidence that Christ was the leader of a Pagan Cult teaching a renaissance of an ancient Egypt Mysticism kept secret by an elite caste of priests within the Jewish Rabbis until such a time as Christ came and taught it to the masses, resulting in accusations of blasphemy and the crucifixion of the first Christians.

Exodus 16:14-24 indicates that Manna was inevitably a mushroom.
It was a small round thing in the morning dew, it bred larva, and would melt to mush if not dried. King James Version.
All “wild” mushroom pickers know that mushrooms are most notorious for being infested with worms. This is because flies worldwide of all varieties lay their eggs up into the gills, which then hatch causing the larvae/worms to crawl out as the mushroom matures.

Daniel 5:3-5 with Exodus 16:32 and Hebrews 9:4
indicates that the mushroom was a drug. After sacking the temple in Jerusalem and stealing the Ark-of-the-Covenant, the King of Babylon and his table drank from the golden cup containing the holy “Manna” they had visions within the hour. Psilocybin mushrooms take 30-40 minutes to induce visions.

Hebrews 9:4 makes it clear that Manna was the most holy thing to Israelites, kept in a Pot-Of-Gold in the Ark Of The Covenant, in the Most Holy Of Holys. So sacred is the Manna that only the High Priest has access to it, and only on one day of the year Yom Kippur, which comes 3 days before the harvest moon AllHallowsEve.

Psalm 78:24-25 calls Manna Food Of Angels, just as Mayan/Inca Priests from Meso-America called it Teonanacatl Food Of The Gods.
Manna is an Egyptian word, not Hebrew or Aramaic, meaning;
The Bread of God. This is what Moses called it in Exodus 16:15.
“Bread Of God” means Food-Of-God, which is the same meaning of Teonanacatl (Mayan), and Ambrosia Greek, and Soma Hindu a word for mushroom tea, all these words mean “Spiritual Food”.
Coca and Tobacco Leaves found in Pharaohs tombs suggest it was ancestors of Mayan/Inca Priests who brought mushrooms to Egypt.

John 2:6-9 indicates that Jesus made water into wine by boiling mushrooms Mushroom-Tea, the waterpots were made of stone, not clay, stone pots were used for cooking, clay pots used for storing water. These pots already contained 2-3 firkins of a substance before the pots were filled with water.
A Firkin is an Old-English measurement meaning a fourth part. Half to three-quarters of fresh mushrooms with water makes a potent tea. Tea is the safest way to consume field mushrooms, killing dangerous bacteria like E. Coli. In the Atharva Veda, the Hindus called this Tea Soma. Greeks called mushroom jelly Ambrosia.
Those who drank the water made into wine said it was the most potent intoxicant St. John 2:10. The Bible tells us that Jesus making water into wine was the “beginning of miracles” … in other words no one saw any miracles until drinking the wine made from water. St. John 2:11.

Certainly for the Israelites Egypt was the origin of Manna, which explains why all the Patriarchs of Israel were educated in Egypt, Moses, Christ, and Joseph The favorite son of Israel, were all educated in Egypt. Solomon married Pharaoh’s daughter, and Abraham found his God at a place called Shechem, which is another Egyptian word for Manna.

Ambrosia or Broma-Theon [Greek]
Manna [Egyptian, Israelite]
It can be no coincidence that the Mayan, Egyptian, Greek, Hindu, and Israelite words for the mushroom all mean exactly the same thing: The Bread Of God.

Manna was round, was found on the ground in the dew, would melt to mush if not dried or collected on time, and would breed larvae. All unique characteristics of mushrooms. When dried it was like “wafers of bread” and it’s color was like “coriander seed”, the consistency and color of dried mushrooms, as described in Exodus Ch. 16.

world herb day event in St. pete....looking for vendors

I wanted to let everyone know about the World Herb Day(www.herbday.org) event going on here in St. Pete. We will be having a one day event from 10-4pm on Saturday Oct 14, 2006. There will limited space for vendor tables and opportunity for 45 min lectures all day. Non profits are free and for profits are only $10 all vendors must be related to herbs or herbalism.
